Check out the 2026 Schedule and Register!

Get ready, NYC School of Data 2026 is on the horizon!!! Our tenth annual community conference brings together people who care about open data, public interest technology, and service design — and we’re excited to share that the preliminary schedule is now live

NYC School of Data will round out the NYC Open Data Week festival with a full weekend of sessions and community connection, including 40+ sessions led by an incredible group of our neighbors.

With programming support from the Open Data Team at the NYC Office of Technology and Innovation, our conference assembles city officials, technologists, designers, data analysts, and community members to explore open data, civic technology, and service design in New York City.

And this year is extra special: NYC School of Data turns TEN! To celebrate, we’re expanding to a two-day format. Join us at CUNY School of Law for NYC School of Data on Saturday, March 28, and UnSchool of Data on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The weekend also coincides with the 16th anniversary of International Open Data Day and the 14th anniversary of New York City’s Open Data Law, making it a meaningful moment to come together as a community.

To attend, you need to purchase tickets via Tito and register. The venue is fully accessible, and thanks to support from Reinvent Albany and New York State’s ConnectAll program, we’ll be livestreaming the main stage and offering American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for all mainstage sessions. Thank you to SignNexus for providing ASL interpretation services!

Two pink hands are in the American Sign Language interpretation symbol. Below is a caption that reads "provided by SignNexus."

We’re also proud to keep the conference welcoming to all ages (see the registration page for details on childcare tickets). If you have accessibility questions or needs, please email us at < schoolofdata@beta.nyc >.

Can’t make it in person? You can still tune in to the main stage livestream at < schoolofdata.nyc/live >, provided by the Internet Society New York Chapter. Follow the conversation all weekend using #NYCSoData and #UnSchoolofData on Bluesky, LinkedIn, or Instagram. We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone year with you!

This year’s program will feature over 40 sessions! We are actively posting all session information on Sched < https://nycsodata26.sched.com >. Other updates will be posted on the conference website at schoolofdata.nyc, as well as in BetaNYC’s newsletter on LinkedIn or email

General Event Information

Event Accessibility: You can access the venue, CUNY School of Law, by public transit, bike, bus, and car. We will deliver the conference in English and will use technical terms.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be provided upon request. Main stage presentations will have ASL interpretation. The venue itself is ADA-compatible. All-gender restrooms are accessible on the third and fourth floors. There is an accessible lactation room on the second floor. Service animals are always accepted. If you need American Sign Language interpretation or have any other questions/concerns, please email us at < schoolofdata@beta.nyc >.

Health Policy: If you’re not feeling well, PLEASE stay home. We strive to create a safe environment for everyone. (Please see our refund policy for questions.)

To attend this in-person event, we ask that everyone wear a high-quality mask at all times (except when eating or drinking). We will have ample KF-94 masks in various sizes for you to wear. Masks keep our staff, volunteers, and attendees safe. Masking helps prevent the spread of viruses — this is science, based on data!

Refund Policy: Contact us to request a refund. We will try to honor all of your refund requests at < schoolofdata+refund@beta.nyc >. Please note that some ticketing fees are nonrefundable.

Thank you 2026 Sponsors!

The following mission-aligned organizations are helping us cover conference costs and enable us to meet in 2026. Thank you!

Reinvent Albany: Reinvent Albany advocates for transparent and accountable New York government. We work to strengthen FOIL, put government information online, and are vocal advocates for open data laws and practices. We also advocate for more accountable and better-governed state authorities, including the MTA. We seek to create a state government that is responsible, responsive and above board and thus we fight for public integrity measures and against laws and practices that increase the risk of corruption and favor the few and well-connected over the public interest.
